Hi All,

Still down with my back. I wanted to get out to the Oktoberfest this weekend but I feel like I better continue taking it easy and focus on getting better.

The Thirsty Muse Site

Over at The Thirsty Muse I posted about Arthur Guinness Day (held September 22), and a personal look at America’s fine whiskey; bourbon. If you missed the posts, head over to the site and take a look.

I am very excited about the direction The Thirsty Muse is headed. I have spent months gathering information, and writing for future posts. I am also heading up monthly feature in Alternative Revolt Magazine called “Hopping Mad” – the first article is to be in the October issue.

Visit the Thirsty Muse [CLICK HERE]

Warth Fine Art and Warth Photo blogs

Yes, I have been busy! I have great plans for those sites as well…stay patient new stuff coming for these blogs. I’ll be sharing my work, my processes, and a lot of cool stuff.

Other News

I am working on making time for a local (Chillicothe area) holiday bazaar this year. I used to participate in this event regularly, and really hope to clear my schedule in order to be there. If I get to do this, I’ll post it here first…at the bazaar, I’ll be focusing on my fine art sales.

Now that I am basically trying to maintain 4 blogs, and my social media sites, I find that I am pretty busy just thinking about posts. As soon as my back is better I’ll be back to working hard at this monster I call Warth Arts.

- Mike

I think it is official, I like to write more than create art or make photos lately. Is it simply because I am too lazy to prepare the paints and canvas, or even get the camera gear ready? I don’t really know. But what I can be sure of, is that my creative brain is always thinking. There are times when the ideas, and thoughts come faster than I can process them. So what am I to do?

At this very moment, jacked up on Starbucks coffee, I sit in my studio and type away. Letting random thoughts run through my head as I contemplate another day passing. Why not paint? I have little desire to make a painting and I have no idea what I want to paint. Maybe that is why artists should stick to one subject. No, I just lack the enthusiasm – I want to be outside, travel, head out to a cool destination and then write about it. No wonder painting in the studio lately feels so boring.

Why not make pictures with my camera? Like painting, the idea of getting all the gear out and ready, while having no subject seams like a waste of time. I guess I am letting resistance kill the muse. The desire would come if I just started working. Or would it?

I am sure there are rock stars I could photograph tonight, but I don’t feel like it. There is an empty canvas right here in the studio waiting to become a painting, but I can’t muster the energy to get started nor can I think of anything I want to paint.

So, I write…and I write this post simply to share a point. Sometimes, creatives get bored, and they just need to take a day off. I took a vacation day today from my regular job, and it seams as though I am taking a vacation from the arts as well. After all, it is dinner time, food to be prepared, cooked, and served. Beer to consume, and time to spend with loved ones.

What are your thoughts? Do you ever get bored with he things you are passionate about? Are you really passionate if boredom wins? I would love to read your comments.

Cheers
